REQUIREMENTS FOR VISA APPLICANTS
Applicant should be of German, Estonian, Polish, Latvian and Lithuanian nationality
or be officially resident in any of the aforementioned countries. Each applicant
must necessarily have the following documents and send them to
the Embassy before visas can be issued:
- A valid and original passport with expiry date of at least six (6) months from the
date of application for visa.
- One set of application forms (4 copies) to be downloaded from this website, duly
completed and signed by the applicant.
- Four (4) passport-size pictures.
- (a) BUSINESS VISAS: Should be submitted with a letter (in english) from your company
guaranteeing your stay in Ghana and stating the reasons for your visit. Two (2) references
are required. Please supply the names and addresses of your Business Associates and
their companies as your references in Ghana. Hotel may be used only as a second reference.
- (b) VISITORS/TOURIST VISAS: Names and addresses of two (2) references are required,
one of which can be a hotel where the applicant will lodge.
- (c) STUDY VISAS: Should be accompanied by a letter (in english) from your college
administrator or your professor, stating the reasons for your visit and your financial
means whilst in Ghana. You should also provide a letter of acceptance from the institution
to which you will be attached to during your practical training in Ghana. Please
use the name and address of the institution in Ghana as your reference.
- (d) EMPLOYMENT: Should be submitted with an employment contract, and proof of grant
of employment quota in Ghana. Two (2) references are required, one of which should
be the company or organisation you will be working for whilst in Ghana.

- (f) VISIT BY ROAD FROM A FOREIGN COUNTRY (e.g EUROPE): Applicants should travel
with the following documents: (an international driver's license, custom's entry
permit for the vehicle, a bank guarantee or an international insurance covering the
repatriation of applicant should the need arise).
- VACCINATIONS: All visa applicants must have international vaccination cards against
yellow fever (Ghana observes health regulations for immigrants as prescribed by the
World Health Organisation. Practically though, it is necessary for all persons entering
Ghana to be vaccinated against yellow fever.
- VISAS BY POST: Visa applications by post should be sent only by registered mail.
Such applications should include a self-addressed envelope with adequate amount of
postage stamps for return mail. Alternatively applicants could arrange return mail
by courier services. - Electronic franking of return envelopes are not encouraged
due to limited validity of such stamps.

- TRANSIT VISAS: The Embassy issues two types of transit visas namely, the single and
multiple entries. Both types of visas are valid for 3 months, commencing from the
date of issue. Duration of stay in Ghana as regards the two categories is 48 hours.
However, Ghana Immigration officials in your point of entry have overall jurisdiction.
